Sharansky: Historical perspective on Gaza War

I strongly recommend that you read this entire article, in which Natan Sharansky discusses his participation, as a then-government minister, in the decision-making process concerning previous military actions, or the lack thereof, in response to terrorist attacks. (Hat-tip: Aussie Dave, from this post.)

You recommend Natan Sharansky's article where he notes his fellow Minister Rachem Zeevi was killed by terrorists. But who was this Minister- Jews should acknowledge it has its own racist anti-arab terrorists. While Israel feels Righteous (In all meanings of the word) when it justifies killing Nizar Rayan, his wives, and children, it then calls terrorist the killing of a man who wants to transfer all arabs out and compares them to a cancer and lice. (from Wikipedia)

"In 1988, Ze'evi established Moledet (Homeland). His movement's platform consisted mainly in the population transfer of Palestinian Arabs from Israel (including the West Bank and Gaza Strip) to the neighboring Arab countries first proposed by Rabbi Meir Kahane....Ze'evi publicly advocated the population transfer by agreement of 3.3 million Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza to Arab nations. According to Ze'evi, this could be accomplished by making the lives of Palestinians so miserable they would relocate, by use of military force during wartime, or through an agreement with Arab nations.... Ze'evi claimed that 180,000 Palestinians worked and lived illegally in Israel, then referred to them as "a cancer" and said that "We should get rid of the ones who are not Israeli citizens the same way you get rid of lice".

Natan Sharansky is a remade Israeli man- no longer Anatoly, the Heroic Refusenik.

There are rotten apples in every bunch, as the saying goes. But I don't believe that every Arab or Muslim is a terrorist, & I don't believe that every Israeli politician is a terrorist.
